Genealogy Information

Transcriptions of the 1841-1891 censuses of the Isle of Muck. The ages are fairly approximate (the 1891 census is most accurate). If anyone has any queries or information about any of the families in the census then please contact me. I have linked up the majority of the families in all of the censuses.

Church of the Latter Day Saints - This has a few databases the most useful of which is the International Genealogy Index. Has some marriages and births and a few deaths. Be careful though, as it doesn't always tell you what the source of the information is.

Statistical Account: Old (1791) and New (1845) Statistical Accounts of Scotland online. Muck is part of the Small Isles Parish which can be found under Invernesshire in the Parish list.

Rootsweb Genealogy Forum: surname and place based. Also have useful mailing lists which are also place and surname based and which you can subscribe to. In addition also have family trees which people have submitted which you can search.
Ancestry.com Family tree databases and other genealogy databases. You have to pay to view most of the databases but not all.
The Ships List Information about emigrant ships, including the passenger list for the "St Lawrence" (most of the passengers on the St Lawrence came from Muck).
